The five-minute scoring test
| Check | How | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Links open | Open 10 random rows; one point per 5 working | 0 to 2 |
| Prices match | Compare 5 rows with Hipobuy's price today | 0 to 2 |
| Freshness | Edited in the last month = 2, last quarter = 1 | 0 to 2 |
| QC notes | Photos or notes from buyers on popular rows | 0 to 2 |
| Agent neutrality | Raw marketplace links or several agents offered | 0 to 2 |
Eight or more: use it with confidence. Five to seven: useful for ideas, verify each row. Below five: start elsewhere.
Red flags
- Every link forces one agent with a referral code and no raw link.
- Prices far below anything else for the same item.
- No date anywhere.
- Rows pointing to shut agents such as CNFans or Pandabuy.
- Requests to pay for 'access' to a list that is mostly public.
Why QC notes matter most
A spreadsheet tells you what exists; QC notes tell you what arrives. Rows that include buyers' photos from the warehouse show the real product, colour and finish. When a sheet has none, request extra photos on Hipobuy after purchase and judge within the 5-day return window. Our Hipobuy QC guide lists the photos to ask for.
The 'best' depends on your category
A sheet that excels at sneakers may be weak on jackets. Use category-specific lists where you can: jerseys, watches, sneakers. For general browsing, our finds page is organised by type.
Price sanity check for EU buyers
When comparing sheets, convert the yuan price to euros and add your share of shipping, VAT at your country's rate and €3 per tariff category. An item that looks €5 cheaper in one sheet can cost the same delivered. The EU calculator does the sum.
Keep the winners
Once a row passes, copy it into your own sheet with the raw marketplace link and the date. Over a few orders you build the best Hipobuy spreadsheet there is: one tested on your own purchases. Compare formats in our overview of Hipobuy spreadsheets.
When to ask for help
If a sheet looks promising but you are unsure about a seller or size, send us the row on WhatsApp. We will tell you what we know about the item and quote it delivered, with no obligation.
Scoring a sheet: a worked example
Imagine a shared Google Sheet with 400 rows, last edited six weeks ago. You open ten rows: seven work, three show 'item not found'. That earns one point for links. Five price checks show two rows more than 20 percent off, so one point for prices. Edited within the quarter, one point for freshness. A few popular rows include QC photos, one point. Every link forces Hipobuy with a referral code and no raw link, zero for neutrality. Total: four out of ten. Useful for ideas, not for buying blind.
Now a smaller Discord list of 60 rows, edited last week, every link working, prices matching, buyers posting QC photos under most items, raw Weidian links next to the Hipobuy ones. That scores nine or ten. Smaller and fresher beats bigger and stale almost every time.
Where good sheets come from
The most reliable sheets are kept by people who buy regularly and update rows after each haul. You will find them in active communities, where other buyers correct mistakes quickly, rather than in one-off posts. Creator sheets can be excellent too, but check how often the creator posts new hauls; a sheet from a creator who stopped posting months ago ages like any other.
What 'best' should not mean
The best sheet is not the one with the most rows, the lowest prices or the loudest promotion. Huge sheets hide dead rows; the lowest prices often belong to delisted items or bait listings; loud promotion usually means a referral deal. Judge by what arrives, not by what is promised. For buyers in Germany, France and Spain, a sheet that also notes shipping weight per item is a quiet sign of quality, because it means someone actually shipped those items.
Turning a good sheet into a good parcel
Even a perfect sheet can lead to an expensive parcel if you mix too many item types. Pick from two or three categories, keep the goods under €150 if you want the IOSS treatment, and check the weight with Rehearsal Parcel before choosing a line. The sheet chooses the products; you still choose the parcel.
Red flags inside individual rows
Even a well-scored sheet can contain bad rows. Watch for rows with no seller name, rows whose photo does not match the linked listing, and rows that link to a search page rather than a product. Skip those, or rebuild them from the seller's store. A row that names the seller, links a specific item and notes a size tip is worth far more than ten bare links.
Re-scoring over time
A sheet that scores eight today can drop to five in three months if nobody maintains it. Re-run the test whenever you return to a sheet after a break. It takes five minutes and saves you from ordering an item that changed batch, seller or price since you last looked. Keep a note of each score with the date beside the sheet's name in your own list.
One last tip: when two good sheets disagree about the same item, trust the one with the more recent buyer photos.
Questions people ask
Which is the best Hipobuy spreadsheet?
The one that scores highest on freshness, working links, accurate prices and QC notes on the day you use it. Run the five-minute test.
Are paid spreadsheets better?
Not necessarily. Paying for a sheet does not keep its links alive. Judge it the same way.
How often should a good sheet be updated?
At least monthly for prices and dead links; weekly for fast-moving categories like sneakers.
Can I trust TikTok 'best sheet' videos?
Use them for ideas, then test the sheet. Many push one agent for referral reasons.
