Hipobuy watch spreadsheet: choosing watches you can judge from photos

Last updated .

Short answer: Watches are searched with Hipobuy mainly in Spain ('relojes hipobuy'), and this page's gallery shows watches only. Judge them on QC photos of the dial, hands alignment and case finish, ship with lines that accept small batteries, and avoid branded copies, which customs can seize. Our watch grid is filtered from repbuysheet.com's 10,000+ real-photo products, sold at Taobao and Weidian prices.

Hipobuy Spreadsheet Watches From 10,000+ Finds: Order Links, QC Reference Photos

Each picture is a real photo taken from repbuysheet.com, where more than 10,000 shoes, clothes, bags and accessories sit at their Taobao and Weidian prices. Open one you like to see what it costs, look through extra photos and grab its order links.

Judging a watch from photos

A watch is a small object with many details, so QC photos carry more weight than for clothing. Ask for a straight-on shot of the dial in daylight, a side view of the case and crown, the clasp, and the caseback. Check that indices line up with the minute track, that the hands sit centred, and that the date window is straight.

Batteries and shipping lines

Quartz watches contain button-cell batteries. Many lines accept them, some do not. Hipobuy's customs notice says it suggests lower-risk shipping methods based on the goods; ask support for a line that takes watches with batteries before you submit the parcel.

Customs and brands

Watches copying luxury brands are a top target for EU customs, and seized goods are excluded from Hipobuy's insurance compensation. Unbranded or own-brand watches are ordinary goods. Searches like 'rolex hipobuy' exist, but we do not cover branded copies.

Packing

Ask for the watch to be kept in its box or wrapped with padding. Remove outer cartons only if the watch has its own hard case. A watch adds very little weight but is fragile in compression.

Cost for a Spanish buyer

A €45 watch with €12 of shipping in Spain pays 21% VAT, about €11.97, plus €3 duty as one tariff category: roughly €72 delivered. Adding a strap of a different type can add a second category. Details in our Madrid guide and the calculator.

Quartz or automatic

Quartz watches run on a battery, keep accurate time and are cheaper. Automatic watches wind themselves through wrist movement, have a smoothly sweeping second hand, and need occasional regulation. In QC, a running video helps with both: for quartz, check the second hand hits the markers; for automatic, check it runs at all after shaking.

Bracelet sizing

Metal bracelets usually arrive with extra links. Ask the agent whether sizing is possible, or plan to have a local watch shop remove links. Leather and rubber straps are simpler but wear faster.

Water resistance claims

Treat water-resistance figures on low-cost watches with caution. Unless the seller documents testing, assume splash resistance only and keep the watch away from swimming and showers.

When a watch is worth a return

A misaligned dial, a stuck crown or a second hand that skips are worth a return request within Hipobuy's 5-day window. A tiny mark on a bracelet is often not, given that return costs include both shipping legs and a ¥5 fee. Decide quickly, because watches are small items whose flaws are easy to overlook until it is too late.

Buying watches with other items

Watches are light, so they add little to a parcel's shipping cost, but each watch type adds its own €3 duty category in the EU. Combining a watch with clothing in one parcel is usually cheaper than shipping it alone.

Gift timing

Watches are a popular gift, and orders spike before the end of the year. Allow at least four weeks from order to delivery in November and December, because both sellers and shipping lines slow down. If a watch is a gift with a fixed date, order early and pick a tracked, tax-included line so nothing is held up at customs.

Keeping a watch running

Quartz batteries in low-cost watches often arrive partly used. A local shop can replace a button cell cheaply. Automatic watches should be worn regularly or kept on a winder; if they stop, wind them gently by hand through the crown before wearing.

Packaging and boxes

Watch boxes add weight and volume. Ask yourself whether you need the box. For a gift, keep it; for personal use, ask the warehouse to remove the outer box and wrap the watch in padding. A small hard case protects the crystal for a fraction of the weight of a presentation box.

Watches and the €150 limit

A single watch rarely approaches €150, but a parcel with a watch, a jacket and trainers can. Above €150 the €3 rule no longer applies and normal duty rates by tariff code are charged, which can be noticeably higher for some goods. Keep an eye on the total, and consider splitting genuinely large orders into separate planned parcels rather than going over the limit by a few euros.

Spanish buyers and watches

Spanish search interest pairs Hipobuy with watches more than other markets do. Correos may hold parcels whose VAT was not prepaid, so a tax-included line is especially useful for watch parcels to Spain. See the Madrid guide for delivery details.

Above all, judge a watch on its QC photos and video rather than on listing images, and make your decision within the return window.

And if a watch arrives running slow or fast by a few seconds a day, that is normal for inexpensive movements and not a fault.

Questions people ask

Can Hipobuy ship watches?

Yes, but watches with batteries need a line that accepts them. Hipobuy suggests suitable lines based on the goods.

Which details matter most in a watch's QC photos?

Dial alignment, hands, date window, bezel, crown and case finish, ideally with a short video if offered.

Are branded copy watches allowed through EU customs?

No. Trademark-infringing watches can be seized, and insurance does not cover confiscation.

Do watches count as a separate category for EU duty?

Yes. A watch adds its own €3 duty in an IOSS parcel up to €150, alongside VAT.

Are watches in the grid all watches?

Yes. The gallery is filtered with the keywords Watch and Watches, which returned 18 watch products in our test.

Can I return a watch to the seller?

Only within Hipobuy's 5-day window after warehousing and with the seller's agreement.
